Summer Fairs

Vintage romper, belt, purse.

Friends!

I wanted to go on, but i'm scared of heights :(

He was really good!
;)

Went to the Ex with my friends today for the first time! I realized how much i've missed out, the extremely fatty foods, cheap clothes and international goodies.

It was a day well spent! Going back next year, and hopefully i'll be able to win a stuff animal or something.. :)

Last night i went to help with my friend's fundraising music event. Underground bands such as Maybe Refuge and K*WHY and magicians performed over drinks and laughter; it was a great time! We ended up raising over $400 for the organization - Power Unit. Not bad for a first timer at fundraisers.

As usual, i had my bright lipstick on ( i wore fuchsia ) with a purple silk dress that i picked up last week. It was a easy, fun outfit, perfect for the occasion.

DIY Volume:1

Frontal View
Side View
It's been awhile since i've worked with the sewing machine. This leopard fabric, which i discovered at a thrift store a year ago has been in the bottom of my fabric box since. It was love at first sight. I loved how nice the print was and how light the fabric, however i didn't know how to sew back then.

Yesterday as i was doing my usual blog reading, i stumbled upon a dress DIY and that reminded me of how badly i've been wanting a leopard maxi. Finally after half an hour of fabric searching ( i have tones of fabric that i buy thinking i'm going to make something...) i found it at last and began to make this dress.

This was a very easy dress to make. All you need is a rectangular piece of fabric and elastics and some extra black fabric for the chest opening. You can even hang sew this dress, if you had the time in your hands.

 All you do is:
         1. Take the leopard fabric and sew the top part with a fold about one inch wide.
         2. Take the elastic and cut off the length you need. Make sure you make it a little tighter than necessary because you dont' want your dress to fall!
         3. Using a bobby pin, thread the elastic through the fold created in step 1.
         4. Sew the raw edges for the two long side.
         5. Take the small piece of black fabric and cut it into a long rectangle shape about one and a half inch by 5 inches.
         6. Reverse that fabric and sew it close, leaving enough space for the elastic to go through.
        7. Reverse the sewn black fabric which will appear as a tube now.
         8. Thread the elastic on the top of the leapord fabric through, connecting the two side with the black fabric.
9 Sew the elastic together and pull the black fabric to cover the elastic.
        10. Sew the two long sides of the fabric together leaving a 3 inches opening from the top and sew according to how much leg you want to show. I'm 5`3 and i sew 17 inches.
       11. Finally sew the bottom of the dress, length according to you.

And you're done! The belt i had on was from AA but you can use whatever you like :)

p.s. sorry for the very simple instructions and the lack of pictures...i forgot that i would be posting this on my blog until after i finished the dress... :(

What to love

             Boys with hair like this.

How to lovee

Mango mouse cake.

Double shell taco with mash potato.

Say hi to my new friend :)

This picture makes me laugh.

So i've been slacking on postings again...But lately i've been going home late very often and the times i'm at home has been spent in my bed...I promise i'll get back on track..once school starts.

Here's another photo packed post; i should really be doing this less often eh? Because i see all the other blogs never have this much picture unless they have something special to share...I guess i'm just trying to remember every bits of my life, big or small.

Something i learned the other day was that you can not use a cake recipe meant for a trifle for a mango mouse cake...I didn't know and made it...so the mouse cake ended up tasting like mouse and bread.... :(
I was sooo sad...now my friends who i made the cake for all call it a bread cake...Epic fail.
Thus concludes my lesson of the day, don't try random recipes when you're making food for other people, stick with what you're good at.

Anyways, with just two weeks of summer left in the bucket, i'm going to spend it well! Hope you're all doing the same. :)

Have a good day :)

Go easy

desserts, love of my life.

The newlyweds.

The story of me trying to take a picture with this little one..

It was one of my friend from church's wedding reception today, held at the church. Like usual when it was time to eat, i get the desserts first...before they are all gone. But it seems these days that my eyes has a bigger appetite than my stomach because i haven't been able to finish my food for a while now. I feel really bad wasting them...

It took me ages trying to decide what to wear because i didn't want to look too formal, which resulted in me being fashionably late, as always.
Lately I'm finding the colour blue really attractive, especially considering how tanned i became this summer. And though i own many accessories, i dont' have the urge to wear them anymore because the weather's hot and i'm loving simplicity. Never the less i still do take into attention that my outfit is still visually pleasing by mixing different material. Today i wore silk on top and suede leather on the bottom with a shinny purse.

Hope you guys are having a good summer! Go easy.
